When you apply for one of our services, we gather personal information from you. This information may be obtained through an online survey, a video consultation, a follow-up question, a phone call, an email, or another method.In order for our medical staff to determine if the service (and treatment) is safe and appropriate for you, we must gather sensitive information about you, including medical records.In order for our staff to get in touch with you if necessary, we gather your email address and mobile number.Depending on the option you choose, we will pick up your home or delivery address and mail your prescription, medical certificate, or home test kit.
We gather payment information, including credit or debit card details, as well as other account and identification information, when you buy a service from us.
Our payment processor, Stripe, currently handles the collection and processing of any credit card information you submit.
Your credit card information will never be sent to us or kept on our servers. Stripe pledges to abide by the PCI-DSS, or Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.

We will use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security to process payments if you provide us with your credit card information, but we won’t store a copy of your card information on our computers.

Our practice team will get the report or result from the consultant or diagnostic assessment if you have been sent to a specialist physician known as a consultant, for diagnostic evaluations like x-rays or laboratory testing, or for treatment like physiotherapy.
You can access this information through your Broccolicare protected health record.
Device and network information
We gather data on the apps, browsers, and devices you use to access Broccolicare services when you use our apps or website. Unique identifiers, browser type and settings, device type and settings, operating system, and application version number are some examples of the data we may gather.
Along with your IP address, crash reports, system activity, and the date, time, and referrer URL of your request, we also gather data about how you and your browsers and devices interact with our services.
Use of Personal Information
In order to deliver and support the services outlined in the Broccolicare terms and conditions, we utilize your personal information as indicated below (subject to your choices regarding consent).
Provide you with our service
In order for our medical staff to determine if the service (therapy) is safe and appropriate for you, we use the information you submit during your online consultation.
The most recent national and international medical standards serve as the foundation for the questions posed. Our clinical leadership team constantly reviews and updates the questions.
We help our medical staff make decisions by using the data you give us as input into our clinical decision support system. Please be aware that our medical staff makes the final decision regarding the safety and suitability of the service and related treatment for you.
Communicate with you
When your doctor sends you a new message, we use the email address you supply. You should never send personal or medical information by email. Instead, use our secure messaging system for all correspondence with our staff regarding your consultation.
We may contact you by SMS or phone calls regarding your online consultation if we need to get in touch with you right away or if you are not returning our emails.
We use this information to reply to you when you get in touch with us. This can be done by phone, email, mail, application messaging, web chats, or any other way.
Marketing
We use your information to notify you about our services (like when we launch new products or services or run special offers), services you are interested in, general health subjects, and unique offers, if you give us permission to do so.
We only send you these offers a few times a year, and you are always free to opt out if you decide you don’t want to receive them.
Research and Development
We analyze personal data to identify areas for improvement and inform clinicians of potential hazards in order to enhance our service and assist us in making better judgments.

How long do we hold your data (Data Retention Policy)
We keep data until it is no longer required to deliver our services, to adhere to legal requirements or policies, or until your account is closed.
If our medical staff has treated you, we shall keep your information for a minimal amount of time depending on the following standards:
- Adult (18 years of age and up): eight years following the previous medical intervention or demise.
- Young persons and children: till the patient’s 25th birthday, or 26th if the patient was 17 at the end of therapy, or eight years following the patient’s passing.
- Maternity records: twenty-five years following the last child’s birth.
- Records of a patient with a mental illness: eight years following death or 20 years following the final treatment.
- We shall keep the data or make it available for as long as needed if it is needed in any court case.
Naturally, if the law or national norms demand it, this could alter.
Who has access to the information we collect?
We only give your identifiable personal information to third parties where it’s required to run our services and meet legal and regulatory requirements.
Broccolicare team
Access to your information is essential for your safety and continuity of care, as patient care is team-based.
Depending on the staff member’s role in your care, information is shared among the Broccolicare team only with those who need to know.
All of our employees have contracts that include a confidentiality clause.
Additionally, following the guidelines established by the Medical Council, which include maintaining patient confidentiality, is a prerequisite for registration.
Disclosure with your consent
You can give your express consent for disclosure. Any disclosure must be made with and restricted to the authority you have granted, regardless of whether this is a request from an insurance company, employer, or legal procedures.
There will be no information given if this is not forthcoming.
Disclosure without your consent
Disclosure can be made without your consent in two instances :
- if the law mandates the disclosure. For instance, when directed by a judge in a court of law, or by a body or tribunal set up by an Oireachtas Act.
- if the public is interested in the disclosure. For instance, when there is a risk of significant injury to you or others, or when required by infectious disease legislation.
How is your Information Secured and Protected?
We have policies and technology in place to safeguard your private data.
However, we cannot be held responsible for any loss or harm occurring from emails sent to https://broccolicare.ie/, because emails sent to us are not always secure during transmission.
We have a Data Processing Agreement with each third-party service provider we use, and we verify that processing conforms with applicable laws.
Telephone Recording
We might record phone conversations for training and validation.
Communication with Customers
You will receive a notice in your https://broccolicare.ie account when you request a prescription from us. We may call you to discuss the prescription further, but you won’t be added to any marketing lists without your permission.
Your registered personal email address will not receive any medical information. Your registered email address will only get notifications of correspondence in your https://broccolicare.ie inbox.
How to Access and Update your Information?
You can export a copy of the data linked to your Broccolicare account at any time by utilizing the export option under your “My Account” feature, which complies with the Data Protection Acts. You also have the right to see any personal information that may be about you.
This can be utilized in other healthcare systems and will be in a machine-readable format.
Additionally, you have the right to request in writing that we amend any inaccurate information we have on you. To ensure that you are the only one updating your personal information, you must submit a copy of your identification, such as your passport or driver’s license.
Requests for subject access must be sent in writing to the Data Protection Officer (see below), together with a copy of identification (such as a passport or driver’s license) to ensure that your personal data is not disclosed to the incorrect person. All requests for access will be handled within a month of being received.
Account deactivation, deletion and erasure
When you remove your account, we permanently erase your Broccolicare account and all of the data connected to it, even if you haven’t actually used any medical services.
You will not be able to access our service after your account is deleted, and you will need to re-register if you decide to change your mind.
We only deactivate your account and retain your data for the bare minimum of time specified under “Data Retention” if you have had a consultation with one of our medical professionals.
If your account is deactivated, you will not be able to utilize our service going forward. To reactivate your account, you will need to contact support at connect@broccolicare.ie
Changes to this Statement
This Privacy Statement may be updated from time to time. To learn more about how we are assisting in the protection of the personal data we gather, we invite you to revisit this Statement on a regular basis. You agree to this Privacy Statement and any modifications by using this service going forward.
